About BAYER SCHERING PROVIRON
Proviron, also known as Mesterolone among others, is an androgen and anabolic steroid (AAS) medication which is used mainly in the treatment of low testosterone levels. It has also been used to treat male infertility, although this use is controversial. It is taken by mouth.
Proviron was first described by 1966 and introduced for medical use by 1967.
Proviron is actually a drug having anti-estrogenic activities, by blocking the estrogen receptors in the brains, which helps in inducing the testes to make more testosterone.
This drug does not directly possess any direct anabolic or androgenic activities. Testosterone is essential for the development and maintenance of the male reproductive organs as well as other male characteristics, such as hair growth, deep voice, sexual drive, muscle mass, and body fat distribution, and Proviron helps in maintaining and producing that testosterone, Proviron is for use in male patients only.
